Wedding Signature Platters!

Signature platters are a modern way of enjoying your wedding guest book. Hang it on a wall or use it for special occasions- either way I bet you will see it more than a traditional guest book.

Before the wedding. We will work together to design the platter, including custom details of the bride/groom, your names and the wedding date. Additional details can be added at the discretion of the artist. I will then paint the platter. It can either be mailed for an additional fee or picked up at a convenient location.

At the wedding. You set the platter out on a table at your ceremony and reception. It's best to have someone standing near encouraging people to sign the plate, like a guest book attendant. Guests will sign the platter with a porcelaine marker that is included.

After the wedding. Bake the platter in your home oven for 30 minutes at 300 degrees. This permanently applies the signatures to your platter.

One Pebeo Porcelaine 150 Paint Markers is included in the purchase. Additional pens can be purchased for $7 each.

Pebeo Porcelaine 150 Paint Markers contain no toxic ingredients, and conform to ASTM D-4236. Once dried and heat set, the durable, high-gloss finish is permanent and dishwasher safe. Not recommended for use on surfaces that come in contact with food.

Allow the paint to dry, and then bake the painted surface for 30 minutes at 300°F (149°C) in a household oven.
Since many vitreous and ceramic materials cannot withstand sudden changes in temperature, we recommend that you place your piece in a room temperature oven and allow it to warm up with the oven. After 30 minutes, turn the oven off and allow it to cool back to room temperature gradually.

Avoid use of strong, abrasive cleaners such as steel scouring pads, and sharp cutting implements such as stainless steel knives, which may leave scratches on the surface and make it more difficult to clean.

It is best to hand wash pottery.

A 14" platter can hold approximately 110 signatures. Keep in mind most couples/families will sign as one, so to figure out how many signatures to expect divide guest expected in half.
